Utah's Wasatch Back: If there was only a View ;)
Bluebird Days & Epic Ski Adventures
We are often asked, "Where did you take that stunning photo?" Answer: Snapped from my Android, on a perfect bluebird day from Brighton Resort, looking south towards the majestic Mount Timpanogos – home to the iconic and best kept mid-week season pass sneak away, Sundance Mountain Resort. Seriously, the views alone from the ridgelines across the Wasatch Back are worth the trip! Then let's add crisp, clean air, the sunny days and powder dumps… it's the kind of place that makes you forget all your troubles and just reflect on the incredible beauty of the Utah Northern Mountains. And that's just one view from one resort in this incredible ski region.
The Wasatch Back isn't just a ski area; it’s a sprawling playground of powder-packed slopes, challenging bowls, and perfectly groomed runs that stretch across multiple resorts, each with its own unique personality. Imagine a week where you're tackling the legendary steeps of Alta one day, then cruising the family-friendly runs of Snowbird the next, before hitting the legendary bowls of Solitude. The variety is mind-blowing, and honestly, you could spend a lifetime exploring and still discover new hidden gems.
Beyond the skiing, the Wasatch Back offers a unique blend of mountain charm and vibrant town life. Looking for a basecamp for your winter escape? Heber Valley offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere with charming small-town vibes, while Park City pulses with a lively après-ski scene and upscale amenities. Both are fantastic options for basing yourself, with easy access to multiple resorts withing 10-20 minutes, including Park City, Deer Valley (and the new Deer Valley East Village). Let's not forget Sundance, just a short 20 minute drive down picturesque Provo Canyon, made famous by Robert Redford and home of Mt Timpanogos and the legendary sleeping princess. Many people are choosing to buy second homes or even relocate to these areas permanently, drawn in by the incredible lifestyle and the year-round outdoor recreation opportunities. Winter time is magical, but come for the summer and you will quickly realize why folks come for the winter, and end up staying for the summer.
